Directions

The directions below are meant as a general guide. If you are having difficulty coming from further afield and would like help with specific directions, please do not hesitate to email me. Maps are included at the bottom of the page.

The most common route from the M8 and M77:

Take the M77 and come off at Junction number 2. Follow signs for the B768 Pollokshaws at the traffic lights. You will see the Cowglen Savings Bank on your right. As soon as you see the Savings Bank, take the right turn at the first set of lights. This will lead you onto Boydstone Road. Follow the road for about a mile, and you will come to the railway bridge junction. Go under the bridge, and the church is 200 yards on your right.

An alternative route if you stay on the south side:

From leaving Shawlands, follow signs for Barrhead, and take the Thornliebank Road after leaving Auldhouse. Follow the road for a couple of miles (through many sets of lights) and as soon as you see Thornliebank train station, take the first right. The church is roughly 200 yards on your left.

By Bus:

The 45 from Union Street stops within walking distance of the church. Monday to Saturday there can be up to one every ten minutes. On Sundays the service is once every twenty minutes. Please note the bus is for Kennishead.

Bus numbers 56 and 57 will also drop you reasonably close to the church. For full bus timetables please consult:

http://www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/scotland/swscot/timetables/timetableindex.php

By Train:

Both the Kennishead and Thornliebank train stations are very close to the church. From Kennishead, walk down towards the flats, and join the main road (Boydstone Road) from Kennishead Avenue. If you walk 100 yards you will see the church. All trains which terminate at Barrhead stop at Kennishead.
From Thornliebank, walk up to the bridge, and cross it. You will see the IMO car wash, cross that junction and you are on Boydstone Road. The church is 200 yards on the left. Pretty much all the trains on the East Kilbride line will stop at Thornliebank.

The general times of the trains are as follows, please check for specific train times online (www.firstscotrail.co.uk) if you intend to travel during the rush hour periods.

Glasgow Central to Thornliebank: 12 and 42 minutes past the hour.
Thornliebank to Glasgow Central: 06 and 36 minutes past the hour.

Glasgow Central to Kennishead: 07 and 37 minutes past the hour.
Kennishead to Glasgow Central: 12 minutes and 42 minutes past the hour.

Please note that NO TRAINS STOP AT KENNISHEAD ON A SUNDAY. If you are travelling Monday-Saturday we suggest you travel to this station as it is slightly closer than Thornliebank.

Maps:
