They say that education is the best thing that parents could give for their children. I really appreciate that my mother had endeavored to send us to school despite life's difficulties. I humble myself before her and will forever be thankful for providing us good education. It may not be the best university in town but I have proven to her that her sufferings were not in vain--I think this is the most important part of studying.
It really makes me sad looking at students who take education for granted. They spend their time doing not-so-good stuffs like chatting, partying and bumming around. They seem to forget that their parents are working hard to earn for their studies. They sometimes forget that they have something to do for their future. Let us give our parents, who work hard just to send us to school, due respect. Let them be our inspiration in pursuing our education.
Here are some tips that can help us get around school effectively:
Know your priorities.
Instead of chatting or texting, use our time for studying. Finish all school related activities before taking a break. Always meet deadlines by working extra time for your projects or assignements, but never settle for mediocre work, all works should be of best quality.
Maximize your time.
If you have other activities that may take up your time, bring books and references with you and read if you find time. Be a wide reader about a variety of topics to enrich yourself with knowledge. When you are asked to read on some chapters, read ahead. By doing this, you give yourself a better understanding of what it is you were asked to read.
Learn to organize.
We normally waste our time looking for something like pen, notes, etc. If we put together all these things orderly, we would have a lot more free time. Learn to organize your files and try to sort out all things. When you arrive from school, don't dump your thing wherever you may please. Discipline yourself by putting all things in their proper places.
Clarify things out.
You may have copied exact notes from the board but understanding the topic itself is different. Listen well to the lectures and raise questions if you didn't get the point he is explaining while writing down each important detail of the discussion. If you feel you want to disagree on some issues, speak up and clear things out.
Have some time to relax.
Studying does not necessarily equates to a 'home-school-home' routine. From time to time, you have to give yourself a break with your friends and family especially after major examination or even during weekends. Studying hard without a time for relaxation would not give any good to you.
