CODE OF CONDUCT

1. GENERAL

a) Each team will be under the continuous supervision of a team manager

b) Approved parental representatives may be appointed to assist in the organisation and running of the team.

c) Failure to comply with any section of the code of conduct will result in the player being excluded from the football squad.

2. PRE  MATCH

a) Whether playing at home or away, all players and adults should observe the rules of the school or ground at which the match is to be played. e.g. football boots must not be worn inside some buildings, car parking instructions at some grounds must be observed etc.

b) All players playing in the match must wear shin pads.

c) No jewellery to be worn as it is dangerous to others.

d) Football laces must be tied up.  Untied or loose laces are dangerous.

e) Players should be encouraged to warm up for the match in a sensible way.  Good habits learnt at an early stage will pay dividends later.

 

3. THE  COACHES

a) Coaches must respect the rights, dignity and worth of each and every person and treat each equally within the context of the sport.

b) Coaches must place the well-being and safety of each player above all other considerations, including development of performance.

c)   Coaches must adhere to all guidelines laid down by the governing bodies.

d)  Coaches must develop an appropriate working relationship with each player based on mutual trust and respect.

e)  Coaches must not exert undue influence to obtain personal benefit or reward.

f)    Coaches must encourage and guide players to accept responsibility for their own behaviour and performance.

g)  Coaches must ensure that the activities they direct or advocate are appropriate for age, maturity, experience and ability of players.

h)  Coaches should, at the outset, clarify with the players (and where appropriate, parent) exactly what is expected of them and also what they are entitled to expect from their coach.

i)     Coaches must co-operate fully with other specialists in the best interests of the player.

j)  Coaches must always promote the positive aspect of the sport and never condone violations of the Laws of the Game

k) Coaches must consistently display high standards of behaviour and appearance and not use or tolerate inappropriate language.

 

4. THE  PLAYERS

a) Deliberate and dangerous fouls will bring an immediate dismissal from the pitch.  Any further offences in subsequent matches should be punished by suspension from the squad.

b) No player will physically or verbally abuse any other player of either team.

c) Players will treat their teammates and opponents with the same fairness and understanding that they expect for themselves.

d) No player will show any physical or verbal dissent or aggression to any spectator.

e) Excessive displays of rejoicing or congratulations are forbidden.

f) No player will attempt to influence a referee's decision by any physical of verbal appeals.

g) No player will dispute any decision made by the referee or show any violent physical or verbal dissent to any referee.

h) At the end of the match players should shake hands with their opponents.

i) Players will not use inappropriate language.

j) Players will avoid all forms of sportsmanship.

k) Players will abide by the instructions of their Coach and Team Officials, provided they do not contradict the spirit of this code

l) Players will show due respect to the interests of supporters

5. THE  SPECTATORS.

a) Spectators, (Anyone watching the match must remain off the pitch.  They must not interfere with the match by standing too close to the players.

b) All spectators must watch the game from the side of the pitch and not from behind the goal.

c) Spectators are invited to encourage all the players in each team and applaud all good play and sportsmanship.

d) No spectator will display or incite others to physical or verbal aggression aimed at, any referee, official, player or spectator of" either team.

e) If any spectator should fail to respond to a warning about their behaviour they must be requested to leave the ground  and immediate pitch area.  In the event of their refusal the match will be stopped and replayed at a later date, with the agreement of both team managers.
